Jonathon W. Homeister, MD, PhD, earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology and Chemistry in 1985 from Hope College, where he began his research endeavors mentored by Christoper C. Barney, PhD. He then earned the Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology, mentored by Benedict R. Lucchesi, MD, PhD, and the Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan in 1993. He received residency training in anatomic pathology at the University of Michigan Hospitals and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pathology. After residency, he received additional research training as an Associate of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, mentored by John B. Lowe, MD. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and member of the McAllister Heart Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he is also Director of the Molecular and Cellular Pathology Graduate Program. His clinical interests include cardiovascular, autopsy, and forensic pathology, and his research interests focus on the glycobiology inherent to leukocyte trafficking, with particular respect to the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases including atherosclerosis and thrombosis. James R. Stone, MD, PhD, graduated summa cum laude from Wabash College with a BA in chemistry. He then completed the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Michigan where he earned both an MD and a PhD in biological chemistry. His doctoral thesis research was performed in the laboratory of Prof. Michael A. Marletta, where he purified and characterized the sensor for nitric oxide, the soluble form of guanylate cyclase. Dr. Stone completed the Anatomic Pathology Residency Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Stone completed clinical fellowship training in Cardiovascular Pathology at BWH under Prof. Frederick Schoen. He also completed post-doctoral research on endothelial cell biology in the Vascular Research Division at BWH and at Children’s Hospital with Prof. Tucker Collins. Dr. Stone is currently Head of the Cardiovascular Pathology Service and Director of the Autopsy Service at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is also an Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Stone directs a research laboratory in the Center for Systems Biology at MGH studying mechanisms underlying cardiovascular diseases. His group has particular focus on vascular cell activation, vasculitis, and atherosclerosis, and on bridging the gap between model systems and human cardiovascular diseases.

About half of the remaining chapters are okay the rest not really good, particularly in the molecular pathway descriptions which is what i was interested in.. The book is well illustrated. I can see only a small audience for this book

I was sucked into spending $3.99 since the beginning was actually decent. But then the story turns into garbage, laden with racist overtones and violent and ridiculous war scenes. Every page is a variation of let's meet the Swiss army, then they all get instantly massacred except for our main character. Then the marines arrive, and the Russians, and repeat over and over again. Don't waste your time or money on this stinker.

Liked the concepts, but the execution was underwhelming. I ended up skim-reading the last half and either missed the tine-travelly bits or they did not happen. The constant battling against overwhelming forces left me exhausted.

Well versed on OPs kinda corny sometimes but well written and engaging.Would recommend for long plane rides and long nights alone.

Mistakes: none foundPlot: Interesting enough that I grabbed the book even though there were zero reviews. I could honestly see either of the main religions pulling the crap they do.Characters: likable enough that I will follow them into book two.10/10

But, long winded politics as well as a 15 year old's smart attitude.Scifi was a blend of the unusual and the weird, made for an interesting story line.If we just followed Kat 90% of the time, I'd be looking forward to book 2.As it is, I won't let my time be wasted.Shame, so much was excellent.

I'm an experienced knitter, but a beginning sock knitter. I like this book because it gives you a lot of options and techniques to try. My only complaint about the book is that it doesn't lie flat, such that I need to place something on it to hold the book open.

Great book, which has a variety of sock patterns, from the easiest to the more challenging. Clearly written directions.

Broken up nicely into sections that highlight different techniques. Explanations are clear with photos. The variety of patterns really stirs up my motivation to knit even more!

This book came on time and in great condition for a used book. I have checked this book out several times from my local library because it's such a great book. Beautiful socks and instructions for all different toe up and cuff down socks. I was happy to find a used one and save some money.

Lots of great projects to play with from a number of designers and the range is from simple to stunning, which is nice. Very pleased.

Such a good book. If you like toe up or cuff down, there are choices!

Can't go wrong adding this book to your library. Some designs work better with differently dyed yarns and I tend to buy yarn because I fall in love with it then go look for a pattern that suits it. Other knitters might find the pattern first then look for the yarn to make it up in. Either way this bood is a good one to add to your collection.
