This item says it is the "Textbook of Diagnostic Sonography: 2-Volume Set, 8e". That proved to be misleading. When I ordered the product, I only received volume 2. Volume 1 is supposed to be general/abdominal and volume 2 is supposed to be obstetric/gynecologic sonography.

The book has a lot of typos. It seems to be a textbook written separately by multiple authors and was not edited by just one person. There's mislabeled diagrams and some pictures will have arrows, but aren't specifically explained in the photo blurbs. Also, the tables describing pathology aren't consistent across the chapters.

It says I was going to get the 2-volume set and I only got volume one. You can see in the picture is only volume one and they have the wrong picture up there.

Only received 2nd volume. Title says 2-volume-set

I only just volume 2 so I am sending it back right after I got it.

My church uses this for an adult Sunday school class which encourages discussion. I have used this material for 30 years. I have used other Curriculum. Used this every week as a Sunday School teacher to add another resource to primary lesson book. I have been using for many years but was finding it increasingly harder to locate in local Christian bookstores. Kindle version is comparable in price to local bookstores. Could never order paperback copy because of high shipping cost.

By far, the most in depth Sunday School lesson commentary available! I teach an adult class using a different publication and this Bible Expositor and Illuminator gives me more than enough additional material to effectively teach for understanding and life application. Extremely happy now that it is available in digital format. A must have for teachers and Bible students. Now just wish they would publish an annual edition instead of quarterly. Recommendation = BUY!

Love, love the fact that I can download my Sunday School book and take it with me anywhere I go. Anytime I have a few minutes throughout the day, I can read over the lesson, highlight, bookmark, make notes, etc to prepare for my class. In addition I also have various Bible translations and a dictionary downloaded. I also plan to download my favorite commentary and Bible dictionary, then everything I need to study is on my Kindle.

I wish the dates in the contents page would display like they should. Also, I would like page numbers. On my kindle Paperwhite I have to keep swiping forward to get to the next lesson. I am sure soon this all will be fixed. I appreciate that the booklet is available in Kindle format so I won't complain too much.

I love the digital version so much better than the book because I always have my phone or tablet with me everywhere I go - but I often forget my Sunday School book. Also I can start reading if I find myself with some unexpected downtime.My only complaint is a personal preference thing: When my Sunday School teacher tells everyone to look at a particular paragraph on a particular page it takes me a while to catch up. 4 stars because I'd like to see some more interactive functions in the future such as different translations for the target scripture or note adding features.

The book opens with how the Norse believed in multiple gods because they had not yet found "the one loving God, who is the Father of all, who made them and the world, and rules it by his wise laws." So they attributed the movements of the world to various gods.If you bought this book to discredit the ancient Nordics, then this is the book for you. If you bought this book to learn about their beliefs unbiasedly, go elsewhere. The agenda of this book is literally written in the first paragraph: Nordic people were stupid because they didn't believe in the Christian god.I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone; even as a joke.

To be honest, I picked this book (Kindle edition) because it was free. Reading some of the negative reviews and seeing some of the low ratings I believe is a bit unfair. While I can't say it is a must read great book, it tells the stories in an easy to read manner. There are several other works available of Norse mythology, most notably Prose Edda if you want a more academic reading.What this version does very well is tell the stories. For those of us who are not already familiar with these stories I feel the author(s) do a credible job of retelling them. They kept my interest and brought the characters to life. While I've known the names for years I learned some of their personalities. If you are a fan of the recent marvel movies, Thor and Avengers, you can pick up a little better some of the small things that at least to me didn't make a lot of sense. Even with that aside they are just great stories.Don't let the negativity turn you off, this is a good book. If you want a more academic and thorough treatment maybe this isn't for you. But if you just want something to read for pleasure this book certainly fits the bill. One of the better free offerings for the Kindle.

It would be great if this were an honest representation of the Norse myth but within the first paragraph the author specifies that this was before people knew about the one true god who created everything. You may be Christian but these tales shouldn't be altered to say that these people were wrong from the beginning. This was a peoples religion and many people in scandinavian countries still follow this in one way or another.The other thing I have to say about this book which rubbed me the wrong way is that it is extremely simplified. The author states in the introduction/preface that they wrote this for children and that most tales of norse myth are over-layden with detail. I understand the authors intention but do believe that the lose of some details do hinder the stories.Over-all I would not recommend this to anyone in search of true Norse Myths.

A wonderful introduction into Norse mythology. I'm a bit shocked at the outrage of some reviews who seem unable to understand the first few paragraphs of this book- written in 1901 obviously to a Christian audience otherwise unaware of their own mythological heritage.The stories are presented for the enjoyment of both students and teachers alike. If there is an agenda to this book, it is to present the stories in such a way that will resonate interest among those who lack prior exposure. To attribute a Christian agenda that is somehow biased and insulting is absurd at best and Christiophobic at the very least lacking historical context when this book was written and other basic critical thinking skills.It's a free download and a quick read, so have at it. If you're looking for more substantive readings on the topic, this might not be for you. If you're looking for basic exposure or bed time stories for the kids, this is a good option.

When the first paragraph says that the Gods in these stories don't exist, you know the book is going to have problems. I downloaded this to read to my daughter at night to teach her about our Gods. As a Heathen and believer in the old Gods, I find it degrading to discount the entire basis for many religions (AsatrÃº, Odinism, Lokism, etc.)I overlooked the beginning and read a bit farther just to give this book a fair shake. Not only do the authors say that Ragnarok has already occurred, but they mislabeled the Aesir. For instance, Sol (Sunna) is referred to as male when she is female. Furthermore, this so dumbed down and child-like it is nowhere near correct. Saying Freyja stayed with dwarves or Loki ran over hills is fine for children, but is takes away from some of the other mythology (the birth of Slepnir, how Freyja obtained Brisigamin, etc.)If you want a dumbed down clean version of the myths for kids, I guess this okay, but otherwise this book is degrading and just plain wrong.

Purchased for my 15 yo who absolutely loved norse mythology and the Thor and asgard series. She is anticipating the infinity war movie. She really enjoyed the tales in this book as it defines Little more about asgard

Before I begin, let me make myself clear: this is a review of this book, not of the stories. I like these Norse myths. They are worthy to be counted among classical mythology. This book, though, is just now what I expected. I was expecting the real thing. Instead, I got a retelling of the stories with a rather irritating, juvenile style. Don't get this! Buy The Prose Edda, The Saga of the VÃ¶lsungs, or even Tolkien's retelling, The Legend of Sigurd and GÃºdrun. This book is a disappointment.

I was never a big fan until I actually started reading thisawesome book. I love marvel thor and the real thor. correct me if I'm wrong but I thinkthe Vikings made story's of a forger with a large hammer and whenever he struck the metal with his hammer it sounded like thunder striking and his name was thor and he was the son of a king named Odin.................. About the Author

DENIS O'CONNOR was born and raised in England. After retiring from a career as a psychologist, he decided to write Paw Prints at Owl Cottage, fulfilling the promise he made to Toby Jug years ago. Paw Prints in the Moonlight has been translated into Japanese, Italian, and Chinese. O'Connor lives in an eighteenth century cottage with his wife Catherine and two Maine Coon Cats named Luis and Max. When he's not writing, he spends his time gardening, bird watching, and listening to classical music.

I have Maine Coon cats and they are every bit as intelligent and loving as Mr. O'Connor describes in his story. The descriptions of Owl Cottage are also lovely and make a reader feel as if they are right there before the fireplace with a cup of tea and a cat supervising the activity in the house. Mr. 0'Connor does seem to be somewhat obsessed with these cats and his attempt to impose his will on them is disturbing to one who loves these cats also and would never try to change them. Also cats and dogs belong in the human companion's home and in a safe enclosed outside space where they are free to play and stalk each other without the danger of being hit by a vehicle. As intelligent as they are they don't understand the danger that comes from humans and/or their vehicles.People who have visited the British Isles or who would like to will love the detailed descriptions of the areas that surround the Owl Cottage.

If you have not read "Paw Tracks in the Moonlight," by the same author, I highly suggest reading it before this one. This is a continuation of the author's life, and though it can read and easily understood without "Paw Tracks in the Moonlight," I would suggest getting to know the author and his first cat, Toby Jug, before sitting down with this one.That being said, this is a very well written book by a man who knows how to paint a visual picture. Reading his work is to be in Northumberland with him; gazing at the same castles and breathing the same English air as he does. The book is divided into four parts, each in dedication to one of his cats. The cats are Pablo, Carlos, Luis, and Max. After reading it, one can feel a connection with the felines and their individual personalities, as they are so well commemorated in this story.As much as I enjoyed this book, I knew it would be hard to follow up "Paw Tracks in the Moonlight," so I kept an open mind. I did very much enjoy the book, but I could tell it was hard to capture the magic that was present in the author's first book. Perhaps because it was about four different cats as opposed to one, or perhaps because the books are about completely separate times in the author's life. One is about a single professor in the 1960's, and this one is about a retired, married man in modern society. All in all, I do suggest this book as it is a solid sequel; full of beautiful language and vivid storytelling.

Love this story. I loved his first book about Toby Jug (Paw Prints in the Moonlight) and this book continues the story years later. The way he writes and describes everything about the sounds and smells, the food and drink, and the way he is feeling really brings you right there. Between the two books he has had quite a lengthy adventure with his cats and has a compelling story to tell and tells it very well.

The sheer innocence and honest relationship within the story is lost in this book. It now comes across as more of an authority on how to train and treat the cat, especially if it does not love you or misbehave. I just could not love this book as he seems to contradict himself,, on one hand he believes in the cat retaining it`s true wild nature, letting Pablo roam free every night, yet the other two Don`t get let out for two minutes without the harness and lead. This book does not come near the beauty of the previous book when Toby Jug and him just live an honest relationship, creating the free flowing journey through the pages.

Bought this book after reading "Paw Prints in the Moonlight". I was looking for something a little different than the usual non-fiction material I read. Truly enjoyed this story, and identified with the experience as I rescued a shelter cat many years ago who was also part Maine coon. I was not aware of this at the beginning either. I shared some similar experiences with the author. The book is well written, and makes you realize the potential of a pet as friend. Highly recommended.

This is a great sequel to Denis, first book about his years with Toby Jug.This book begins some years later when Denis, who is now married, and his wife return to Owl Cottage. Before very long they have their first new cat. Others follow before very long. Denis shares many adventures and misadventures with his cats. As with his earlier book, his love of cats comes through constantly.It is obvious that Denis believes that animals have hearts and souls like us and desrve to be treated with much more compassion than they often are. How right he is.Another great book. Many happy moments but some sad ones too.

People in the UK don't seem to protect their cats and consequently they often lose their cats to cars, thieves, many sad ways. I like Denis O'Connor's way of writing, his love of and respect for the wild places and the creatures that inhabit them.

This is a wonderfully written book. But the pain of their loss tragically is almost too much to bear. We must keep our cats indoors...there is too much that can destroy their lives.........also the story about the crows dying had me in tears for days.............how cruel our world is sometimes at the hands of men..........a powerfully written story but not without much pain!!!
