I tried to like this book, but it didn't turn out to be useful for what I wanted, which was to learn how to make raw vegan bread and wraps in my new dehydrator.This book seems to be an extension of the author's blog, complete with url references instead of photos. This book uses a very conversational tone with simple words to argue for a raw vegan lifestyle, while advertising for the author's favorite brand of dehydrator. There are some taste combination ideas for foods, but most of the "recipes" have a time range that is so wide it's not useful (e.g. 10-24 hours), or it's not there at all (e.g. until dry -- with no description of what that means).For raw vegan recipes, I'd say skip this book and keep looking.

Some good information for a neofite dehdrater, but not nearly enough recipes. Would have loved a better source of wraps, crackers, chips, and breads, in one place. This didn't deliver.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kristen Suzanne at her restaurant in Manhattan. She came in wearing no make up, yoga pants, and her hair pulled back in a mess and she was STILL one of the most beautiful women ever. Her skin glowed, even in the dimly lit restaurant. I've never felt better than when I'm eating raw. My skin looks amazing, zero aches or pains. Its amazing.Kristen's recipes are my favorite. All of her books are wonderful and everything goes well with wine.

I've been on the fence about eating raw foods for about a year and I THINK I've finally mentally committed to at least try eating a mostly raw food diet. I flip through this book and others and I am happy to report that I know I can make the change from eating healthy to eating healthier. I haven't read this book in its entirety but I'm impressed by what I've seen thus far. Maybe its because I'm a newbie but it doesn't matter...I am more than satisfied.

This book is more of a sales tool for author's favorite dehydrator and supplies. Must be so few books on the subject that they are all pals. Recipes are just so-so. Pity author could not even mention Ronco's entry in the field. In this age of enlightenment, I would have expected more "heart healthy" recipes and more detail on making fruit "leathers"

An easy reference guide to daily raw vegan eating via your dehydrator for the needs of light, dry & crunchy foods that only a dehydrator can provide in your journey to a mostly raw diet. And make sure you buy her Chocolate cookbook ! OMG, it's so good.

The raw recipes were easy and well put together I have kept most of the recipes for my personal use I would recommend this book to anyone who is transitioning from cooked foods to Raw foods I found the recipes very creative and cleverly put together.

Easy read, simple instructions, looking forward to trying most of the recipes. Wish there were more recipes and better table of content.

This book is horrible. It most likely was written in a foreign language and Google Translated. Letâ€™s start with the fact that one recipe is printed 4 times in a row to get to the 600 recipe counts. Now letâ€™s talk reciepes. . . For instance one meal is called â€œMeet Cheeseâ€ with a second meal called â€œPotatoes and Riseâ€. The spelling is inaccurate, the recipes call for temperatures that are 392 degrees and steps are completely skipped. If you like your â€œHome Made Hot Dogsâ€ with bacon mayo, ketchup and mustard then placed in the frying rack for 20 minutes without adding actual hot dogs to the recipe then perhaps this is the book for you. If you want â€œFlavorful Backed Meatâ€ this is definitely the one for you as you can add â€œone pound of meatâ€ that doesnâ€™t matter what type of meat then this is definitely the book for you. They should be embarrassed for selling this product.

The reviews I read have to be a joke as well as the book itself!.It is full of spelling and grammar mistakes and the nutritional info makes no sense at all. I couldn't even find the name of a publisher. I don't know what language was spoken by the author, but it sure wasn't English! I didn't even want to give it 1 star.

This is literally the worst cookbook ever published. Like others have posted, the author is clearly not an English as a first language. Many of the recipes were repeated over and over. Many of the recipes were unclear as to the ingredients needed - i.e. recipes calling for â€œmeatâ€... ok, what kind? Also a recipe for â€œBalls with Onionsâ€ which didnâ€™t list Onions in the ingredients list. Also what kind of balls? There wasnâ€™t even â€œmeatâ€ in the ingredients - it was literally spices and breadcrumbs. Seriously if I could give negative stars I would. Why this book is listed as a â€œbest sellerâ€ on amazon is beyond me. Save yourself the hassle and pass on this piece of crap.

Its a knock off and not at all the real cook book.

After reviewing the recipes I have decided to return this book as it appears to be useless. The book has no index for you to look at so it is next to impossible to find what you are looking for. This book must have had a poor editor or no editor. Just for example the recipe for coconut shrimp sauce they say rub mint with salt an pepper when there is no mention of mint in the ingredients. I assume that they mean shrimp but that should have been caught. Recipe for cajin shrimp calls for salt, pepper paprika and spices, it would have been nice to know what spices. They also said mix lemon and spices to make pasta. I assume they mean paste but I don't like spending time trying to understand exactly what they mean.

Haven't tried any of the recipes yet - looks like a good variety. What I found distracting about the book was the translation from whatever language was native to the author. It certainly wasn't English! I couldn't figure out what, for example, backed was. As it turns out, it was suppose to be baked! Lots of similar errors. Almost afraid to try recipes since not sure if ingredients and measurements are correct!

Banjo Patterson is probably best known for 'The Man From Snowy River' (made into a movie starring Tom Burlinson and Sigrid Thornton), and the unofficial Australian National Anthem, 'Waltzing Matilda'. Both poems are outstanding. The range of other works in this volume illustrates Mr. Patterson's talent and intimate knowledge of the 'Aussies'. Each succeeding poem seems to get better as one reads. His insight into human nature, horses, and the Australian outback, allow the reader to become familiar with what is written about. There is humor, sadness and poignancy in this varied selection - something for everyone.

I bought this book on a recommendation, but I was 50 pages in before I realized how far off my subliminal expectations had been -- much as many people described within missed the point of the Tellico Dam controversy in the mid-70s. I expected a fairly narrow rehash of legal arguments surrounding, y'know, the snail darter and the dam. Instead, Plater tells a story that involves an astonishing variety of themes in environmental politics -- or, really, American politics generally -- so engagingly that I got out of bed at 11:30 PM to finish it. (It's not that I "couldn't put it down," only that I couldn't sleep when I did!)Grassroots activists fighting for their land? Bureaucratic intrigue? Strategic and philosophical debates? Courtroom drama? Congressional shenanigans? All those things and more are in here, not as plot contrivances, but as the real deal. If you care about politics, or even if you think you're past the point of caring, this story will draw you in.Does it really make sense to read a book about some controversy from the 1970s? In this case, absolutely. Not only is the Tellico story compelling in its own right, but as Plater tells it, it provides a template for understanding a broad swath of environmental policy conflicts. Not that Plater shoves some theoretical framework down readers' throats: he simply writes with such clarity and intensity that we can't help but think more clearly about how the parts connect.Yale University Press has done fabulous work with this book -- it reads better than most best-selling fiction. (Of course Plater deserves huge credit for that, but so does the press.) But the book description does not do justice. "In a narrative that dispels widespread misperceptions about the environmental battle against the TVAâ€™s final dam project...." Yes, it does, but that isn't the point. Misperception is a ubiquitous process, not just an abstract "thing" that one might have about some past event. Environmental activists almost always struggle to convey their side of a policy conflict, for many reasons, which this book illuminates as evocatively as any I've ever read. Plater doesn't provide a dry punch list of dos and don'ts, but you're very likely to find yourself drawing parallels to other issues. Not only does much of the Tellico story read as if it happened yesterday (some specifics aside), but it feels urgently relevant for today and tomorrow.

I recently got this book from Amazon and read it pretty much in one sitting. I loved it! It's a masterwork! It's a wonderfully readable case study of how things really work in the interplay between the courts, the other branches of government, and the press in the context of environmental law. It also shows, painfully at times, how each of these institutions can fail, be it through path dependency, male menopause, venality, laziness, etc. The interchange with Phil Shabecoff of the NY Times that the author had and the account about Dan Rather after CBS aired a post mortem ("we missed the [expletive] story! How could we have missed the [expletive] story?") go to show the limitations of the press. There probably are still some Ida Tarbells and Jacob Riises out there, but they're so often drowned out by the bobble-heads on TV looking for both sides of the issues and "quote sluts" who can deliver pithy lines. Unfortunately, stupid little useless fish vs. big important hydropower dam became the pithy line about the fight over Tellico Dam and it still is. That line sums up the rest of the story the press missed. Now I know the truth, and it's even uglier than I thought. Tellico Dam was never a hydropower project until TVA needed to beef up the "benefits" in its analysis. The Tellico Dam project was primarily a land development project, and the TVA's land grabs for pie-in-the-sky dreams are shocking. The snail darter plays a central role in the telling of this story, but the history of the overall conflict over this destructive project is much more rich.

Excellent book, detailing the history of the the first endangered species case to wind up in the Supreme Court, and subsequent events. Photographs provide a very good guide to this epic battle and the local people that it impacted - badly.

Beautifully bound book of poems by "Banjo" Paterson. First published in 1897 or thereabouts. Great read of what times were like in outback Australia over 100 years ago.

Defective. Blank. Blank. Two blank pages and a picture if the author. Blank blank blank. Don't buy. Blank Blank. Cheap but blank. Nice picture though. If you didn't know what the author looked like.

IF I HAD REALIZED IT WAS POETRY, I'D NEVER BOUGHT IT.

Classic Aussie bush poetry. AB Paterson is a favourite of many and for good reason. His words create an imagery and rhythm that makes for compelling story telling.
